Jaime Hayon's Archeo Collection for Magis Debuts at Milan Design Week 2026

Spanish designer Jaime Hayon has unveiled Archeo, a new collection of side tables and stools for Italian brand Magis, presented during Milan Design Week 2026. The series explores the boundary between industrial production and archaeological imagination, transforming erosion, imperfection, and the passage of time into design objects. The pieces feature deliberately irregular geometric forms with surfaces that change depending on the viewing angle, revealing edges, indentations, and textures reminiscent of rocks shaped by nature or recently unearthed ancient artifacts. Made from rotationally molded polyethylene, the material allows for complex shapes and a rich formal quality. The finish imitates stone eroded by natural agents, reinforcing the illusion of objects shaped by time rather than industrial processes. The color palette is inspired by earth tones—clays, rocks, and softened surfaces—providing visual depth and a connection to nature. Each piece can function as a side table, stool, or sculptural presence in domestic spaces. Hayon stated, 'With Archeo I wanted to create an object that seemed to have a soul shaped by time. It's about exploring the beauty of imperfection.' He noted that collaboration with Magis allowed this vision of materiality and erosion to become an everyday object that integrates into people's lives as a story yet to be written.
