Jaeger-LeCoultre and Marc Newson Unveil New Atmos Clocks and Memovox at Milan Design Week

During Milan Design Week, Jaeger-LeCoultre and industrial designer Marc Newson presented three new timepieces at Villa Mozart as part of the exhibition “The Perpetual Timekeeper.” The releases include two Atmos table clocks—the Atmos Designer Calibre 568 and the Atmos Hybris Artistica Tellurium Calibre 590—along with a modern reinterpretation of the Memovox Travel Clock. The Atmos Hybris Artistica Tellurium Calibre 590 features a tellurium with month, season, and zodiacal indications, and a moon phase accurate to one day over 5,770 years; its glass globe is set with 539 cabochon-cut sapphires representing constellations. The Memovox Travel Clock, powered by a new manually wound Calibre 256 movement with a 12-day power reserve, incorporates a clear alarm complication and is the first travel clock from the maison in 40 years. Newson’s collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre began with a 2008 Atmos and continued with a 2010 astronomical clock. CEO Jérôme Lambert emphasized that Newson is not a typical collaborator but someone who lives the maison from the inside. The pieces were debuted at Milan Design Week to highlight their external design, a shift from the usual inside-out perspective of Watches & Wonders Geneva. The Memovox comes with custom leather travel accessories by Newson, crafted by Italian Cuoieria Maison Schedoni.
