Jackie Chan Directs Martial Arts-Inspired Turandot at Puccini Festival

This summer, Jackie Chan is stepping into the role of opera director for the first time with a martial arts-inspired rendition of Puccini's Turandot. The show is set to kick off during the 72nd Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Italy, with performances scheduled for July 17, July 24, August 1, and August 9. Chan plans to infuse martial arts into the storytelling, allowing characters to embody warrior-like qualities that showcase their inner strength. The cast features notable international talents, including Roberto Alagna, who will perform on July 17 alongside Anna Pirozzi, Andrea Vittorio De Campo, and Aleksandra Kurzak. The production will also tour China, hitting cities like Guangzhou, Xiamen, and Chengdu before its Italian debut.
