IXCAMPUS by Baumschlager Eberle Architekten: Wood Construction and Typology Reinterpretation in Saint-Germain-en-Laye

Baumschlager Eberle Architekten has completed the IXCAMPUS project in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris, France. The project, designed for the competition client Foncière Château Saint Léger, comprises two new buildings: the elongated 'Grande Orangerie' with 8,572 m² of usable floor area, housing research and teaching spaces, and the cross-shaped 'Incubateur' with 3,102 m², intended for start-ups that manufacture products on site. The total architectural area is 17,728 m². The project is scheduled for completion in 2026. The design synthesizes experimental construction techniques with a conceptual reinterpretation of building typologies, drawing on the firm's expertise in timber construction.
