Ivano Troisi Unveils 'Nel vento (specchio)' at Salerno Design Week 2026

Ivano Troisi's urban design installation Nel vento (specchio) will be inaugurated on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 7 pm in the piazza of Marina d'Arechi Port Village, Salerno. The Fondazione Filiberto e Bianca Menna presents the work, curated by Gianpaolo Cacciottolo and Adriana Rispoli, as part of the Salerno Design Week 2026 programme. Inspired by a giant dry leaf carried by the wind and settled on the ground, the piece uses mirrored stainless steel to create a contemporary sculpture that reflects on the relationship with the natural landscape characteristic of the Marina d'Arechi area. The reflective material allows the work to blend into its surroundings despite its large dimensions, generating a succession of breeze and light that gives the creation a sense of infinite lightness. Inserted into the maritime setting, the sculptural element offers multiple visual possibilities through its mirroring surfaces; the viewer, via the mirror, can engage their gaze with the numerous perspectives of the reflected environment. At night the work is enveloped in darkness and reflects the celestial vault on its surface, so it will not require artificial lighting. The installation aims to establish a harmonious contact between natural and architectural elements, seeking to position itself among the glimmers of the surrounding landscape.
