Iván Krystall's 'Tecnologías para el afecto' at Corner Gallery

Corner Gallery in Madrid presents 'Tecnologías para el afecto', an exhibition by Iván Krystall running until June 30, 2026. The project emerged from an artistic residency in Carabanchel and reimagines urban coexistence in the near future. Krystall constructs an immersive installation blending digital images, domestic objects, and symbolic references to the neighborhood, proposing a utopia built from everyday gestures. The work draws on post-internet aesthetics, treating digital culture as integrated into contemporary experience rather than separate. Screens become spaces of intimacy, memory, and collective projection. A recurring motif is the angel, used as a metaphor for care, connection, and accompaniment, creating a contemporary mythology where popular tradition, digital imagery, and future desire converge. The installation incorporates elements specific to Carabanchel while addressing broader questions about city, technology, and social bonds. Rather than projecting an ideal city, Krystall focuses on repairing eroded community ties, shared time, and mutual attention, offering an affective utopia grounded in small daily acts.
