Iterare Arquitectos nests stark white home inside old Spanish brick shell

Iterare Arquitectos has finalized Casa Nido in the Torrefiel area of Valencia, situated within an existing brick structure. Co-founder Rubén Gutiérrez characterizes the design as "brutal" and minimalistic, showcasing exposed rough brick alongside sleek white render and limestone elements. The renovation honors the building's history by sealing off unnecessary openings while retaining their outlines. The facade facing the street is predominantly plain, featuring small windows with white limestone louvres and concrete-filled gaps. At the rear, a spacious paved patio leads into a double-height area that encompasses the living, dining, and kitchen spaces via folding doors. A tranquil courtyard occupies one-third of the site.
