Barcelona-born photographer Isabel Muñoz, born in 1951, is currently showcasing her exhibition "Las piedras del cielo" at the Royal Collections Gallery as part of PHotoEspaña. This exhibit explores King Felipe II and the El Escorial Monastery through a blend of photographs, videos, objects, and installations, highlighting granite as a central theme. Muñoz has earned numerous accolades, including the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2009 and the National Photography Award in 2016. In 2022, she became a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, having started her career in the late 1970s at Madrid’s PhotoCentro.
