Isaac Julien's 'All That Changes You' at Galleria Borghese: Cyberfeminism and Human-Machine-Animal Relations

exhibition · 2026-08-18

Isaac Julien's film 'All That Changes You. Metamorphosis' (2025) is currently being exhibited at Galleria Borghese in Rome, featured in the show 'Metamorfosi. Ovidio e le arti', curated by Francesca Cappelletti and Frits Scholten, which has been extended until 11 October. The installation in the Uccelliera showcases philosopher Donna Haraway alongside actresses Sheila Atim and Gwendoline Christie. Mark Nash's script incorporates quotes from pre-Socratic thinkers and Octavia Butler. Initially designed for Palazzo Te, the film's single-channel presentation in Rome focuses on concentration. It reinterprets Giulio Romano's 'Fall of the Giants' as a modern-day apocalypse, advocating for a renewed pact between humans and non-humans. The exhibition continues until 25 October 2026. Review by Alessandra Mammì.
