Iran Threatens to Close Red Sea Gateway as US Renews Blockade

Analysts suspect that Iran could use its Houthi allies in Yemen to disrupt the Bab el-Mandeb, which is essential for Saudi oil and global trade. A Houthi leader mentioned on Monday that they are prepared to shut the strait, potentially pushing oil prices to $200 a barrel if Saudi Arabia continues its attacks on Yemen. After accusing Saudi Arabia of bombing an airport they control, Houthi forces struck back with missiles, breaking a four-year ceasefire. The Red Sea is expected to become the next conflict zone, with Trump warning about targeting Iranian energy assets.
