Ingrid Portal Creates 220-Meter Fresque at French Culture Ministry

Artist Ingrid Portal has completed a 220-meter-long fresco titled 'Les Voies du regard' in the basement corridors of the French Ministry of Culture in Paris. The project, initiated in October 2025 and finished recently, transforms the space leading to the Sonia Delaunay room, where national collection acquisitions are decided. Portal, a student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, drew inspiration from caving expeditions in locations like Ariège and Ardèche, using natural pigments sourced from French sites. The work features organic lines and soft colors, designed to prepare visitors' perception through a five-part sensory journey.
