Inga Meldere's Solo Exhibition 'Slings' at Kuldīga District Museum

Inga Meldere's solo exhibition, titled 'Slings,' will be showcased at the Kuldīga District Museum in Latvia from March 6 to May 31, 2026. This exhibition features a decade's worth of her work, presented as a cohesive exploration of recurring methods, materials, and perspectives. The act of painting is approached as a dynamic process of image creation, evolution, and reinterpretation. The pieces emphasize materiality, surface, and the creative process, focusing on the origins of pigments, layering techniques, exposure, and the integration of historical forms into modern imagery. Born in 1979 in Kuldīga, Latvia, Meldere divides her time between Helsinki and Latvia, having studied at various prestigious institutions and exhibited widely across Europe, including at the Helsinki Biennial and Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition will take place in the museum's permanent display building located at Pils iela 5.
