Infinite Grove Pavilion by Chang Hao Studio Multiplies a Single Tree into an Endless Forest in Shanghai
Infinite Grove, a mobile pavilion created by Chang Hao Studio, is located in Shanghai and consists of two curved mirrored-steel walls that create the illusion of an infinite forest by reflecting a single tree. Initially unveiled at the 2026 Shanghai International Flower Festival from April 18th to May 10th, 2026, it has since traveled throughout the city, displaying various trees each season. Chosen for the festival by Xiaohongshu (RED) Design Week, it was set up at the main venue in Xintiandi, surrounded by over forty themed gardens, and drew around 29.5 million visitors. The pavilion is designed using classical Chinese garden principles and is prefabricated, eliminating the need for foundations. It started with an azalea and later showcased an olive tree, transforming the mirrored scenery.
