Incite Project founders Harriet Logan and Tristan Lund on photojournalism and collecting

At the age of 24, Harriet Logan secured the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant (IPPG) in 1992. She later partnered with Tristan Lund, an independent curator and art advisor, to establish the Incite Project in 2012. Lund, who is also a curator at Photo London and has previously directed the Michael Hoppen Gallery, has helped shape the private collection, which now boasts nearly 1,000 prints focusing solely on living photographers—a direction influenced by a 2014 visit to New York. The collection actively supports photobook initiatives, image-makers, and the IPPG, which accepts submissions until 31 August. In 2024, they organized an exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre centered on truth in photography. Logan highlights the impact of digitization on photography, particularly in documenting conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. The 2026 IPPG winner will be 20-year-old Palestinian Omar Ashtawy, with a partnership with GOST Books commencing that year.
