In-/Visible Spectrums: Video Art from the Sinosphere at SOAS Gallery

The exhibition 'In-/Visible Spectrums: Contemporary Video Art from the Sinosphere' at SOAS Gallery in London features works by video artists primarily born in mainland China, exploring how conceptual video art affects everyday experience. Curated by five curators, the show includes Zheng Xinhao's 'Not Here, Not There' (2020), a single-channel video of a swinging lamp; Liu Guoqiang's 'Length' (2015), two screens showing a falling pole with varying focus; Xin Yunpeng's 'Towards the World' (2022), a horizontal installation of metro train loops; Li Nu's 'Endless Whip' (2019), a boy skipping over a wind-turbine shadow; Liang Yue's 'Aurora in the Bedroom' (2020), light projections on a bedsheet; Tong Wenmin's 'Crawl' (2018–19); and Siu Wai Hang's 'Cage Bridges' (2021), an immersive installation of caged walkways.
