In Other Words at Grizzly Grizzly: Sugar Eye Chart and Ink-Soaked Cloth Confront Limits of Looking

exhibition · 2026-09-18

A two-person exhibition titled In Other Words, curated by Guava Rhee, commenced at Grizzly Grizzly in Philadelphia on September 4 and will be on display until November 1, 2026. The exhibition showcases the works of Rachel Hsu, an artist from Philadelphia, and Seoul-based Eunhoo Jo (zozo). Hsu presents SWEET NOTHINGS (FEAST YOUR EYES) (2023), featuring a wall of sugar-molded letters designed as an eye chart. Jo's contribution, Ghost Stenographer (2026), includes ten meters of washed cotton inscribed with the phrase 그동안 감사했습니다 (thank you for all this time). Rhee, a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, has collaborated with both artists and has extended the exhibition to include Collective Futures from October 2 to November 15. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from 2–6 PM, or by appointment.
