Ilse Crawford returns to Ikea with Halgatt table lamps

Ilse Crawford has launched 'Halgatt', a pair of table lamps for Ikea, 11 years after her first collaboration 'Sinnerlig' with the Swedish retailer. The lamps are made from ceramic, linen, and brass, available in two designs: a white stoneware block with matching linen shade, and a dark cylindrical ceramic base with beige linen shade, both featuring brass dimmer switches. Crawford, founder of Studioilse in London and former founding editor of Elle Decoration, describes the inspiration as coming from how we live our lives, aiming for versatility that supports decor without dominating. The collection is available online and in UK stores, priced at £35 for the beige/brown lamp and £25 for the white lamp. Her first collaboration, 'Sinnerlig', won a 2016 Wallpaper* Design Award and included a bamboo pendant lamp still in production, while other pieces became collectors' items. Crawford's human-centred design approach also extends to hospitality projects like Cathay Pacific's airport lounges.
