Ignacio San Martín Godoy on Memory, Family Archives and Painting After His Barcelona Residency

Chilean artist Ignacio San Martín Godoy, who graduated in Visual Arts from Universidad de Chile, showcased his work alongside Rosa Medina in the exhibition «Extraño» at Galería Ola in Barcelona, part of the ART NOU program, which ran until September. Both artists delved into themes of nostalgia and memory, with San Martín Godoy's pieces noted for their blurriness. This year, his residency at Piramidón marked a significant shift, aligning with the Ola exhibition and ARTE SANTANDER. His previous solo exhibitions took place at Sala Juan Egenau and Galería Metropolitana. Upcoming projects include «Fragmentos del sonido a la materia» (2025) and «Indagar en lo interior» (2026). While primarily an oil painter, he also engages with ceramics and sound. Currently, he has no scheduled exhibitions as he focuses on new paintings.
