IED Students' 'Pathos Formulas' Exhibition in Florence Honors Aby Warburg

The exhibition 'Pathos Formulas,' curated by Francesca Gavin for IED at the former Teatro dell'Oriuolo in Florence, brings together 17 students from IED campuses across Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin, Cagliari, Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, and Como. The project reflects on the role of archives, inspired by Aby Warburg's concept of Pathosformel and his Mnemosyne Atlas. Students from diverse disciplines—fashion, photography, styling, illustration, sound, and graphic design—collaborated for five months, producing seven group projects, two individual works, a sound piece, and a graphic publication designed by student Alejandro Dominguez. The exhibition includes works such as 'Living Gesture,' 'Sublime Terrain,' 'Fragile Movement,' 'Memory Silhouette,' 'Seamless Forms,' 'Fallen Angel,' 'Modern Antoinette,' and the sound piece 'Temporal Sound.' After Florence, a spin-off will be hosted from October 22 to 25 at Ultra REF, part of the Romaeuropa Festival.
