Idris Elba Punches Teen Actor in Masters of the Universe Remake

Delilah O'Riordan, a 13-year-old schoolgirl from Upminster in east London, described being punched in the stomach by Sir Idris Elba on the set of the live-action remake of Masters of the Universe as 'great fun'. O'Riordan plays young Dian, a member of the royal guard who bullies He-Man at school. The film, which hit UK cinemas on 5 May, also stars Tom Hanks (in Here, 2024), Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, and Alison Brie. Elba portrays Duncan, general of the royal army. O'Riordan, who trained in ballet, noted stylistic similarities with her older counterpart Christiaan Bettridge, a stunt woman also trained in ballet. She balanced filming with exam revision, studying Mandarin in her trailer. Under NDA, she kept the role secret, surprising classmates when the film released. The premiere was 'amazing' and 'really loud'.
