Ideas Para Después Exhibition Speculates on Future Cities Through Design
Ideas Para Después (IPD), a design laboratory led by Héctor Montes Nicolás, presents a speculative exhibition exploring future urban life through more than 20 proposals by emerging designers and students. The exhibition is organized around three frameworks: AMPHIBIA, ECOS, and NO SIGNAL. AMPHIBIA imagines Valencia transformed into an arid landscape due to climate change, requiring new relationships with water. ECOS focuses on care, biodiversity, and collective management of shared spaces. NO SIGNAL explores adaptation to loss of digital connectivity through localized, analogue infrastructures. Projects include a domestic bioreactor by Irene Badía, a modular rooftop system by Alejandro Garrido and Andrea Herrera, a portable water harvesting kit by Diego Blanco, and urban furniture capturing water and CO2 using cyanobacteria by Alejandro Alfaro. The exhibition runs from June 5 to June 28, 2026, at Centro Cívico Favara in Patraix, Valencia, Spain.
