Ichiro Iwasaki's Closer Collection Blurs Indoor-Outdoor Lighting

Designed by Ichiro Iwasaki for Vibia, the Closer collection brings the visual comfort of indoor lamps to terraces, patios, and gardens through a textile, lightweight, and warm proposal. The collection aims to erase the difference between interior and exterior spaces via light. The light source is hidden at the top of the shade, making the fabric the protagonist as it filters through a semi-transparent mesh. Closer comes in three screen formats with a black trim for contrast. Each screen is handcrafted from a resistant, flexible fabric that uniformly filters light. The color palette includes earthy tones, greens, and beige. The family includes pendant versions and portable floor or table models. Pendants can be installed with cable or a rigid stem; portable versions are wireless and rechargeable via induction base. Light intensity is dimmable. Materials are UV-protected and construction ensures stability in wind or on sloped ceilings.
