ICEcubes 2018: Artist Dialogues at Manumission Motel
The ICEcubes initiative, designed and overseen by Milena Becci, made its debut in January 2017 during Bologna's Art Week. The inaugural edition was hosted at Tasta, a gelateria in Bologna, featuring ten artists who showcased their creations while responding to a sealed inquiry from a selected intellectual. Each artist captured two Polaroid images (pre- and post-discussion), and audio recordings were made. These works were later displayed in September 2017 at Traffic Gallery in Bergamo, accompanied by an intervention from artist Samantha Stella and a question posed by Angel Moya Garcia. The 2018 edition occurred on February 2 during the R A I D Manumission Motel event at Hotel Caselle, featuring fourteen artists who took Polaroids reflecting their dialogues. Participants included Angelo Bellobono, Ginevra Bria, and others.
