HW-STUDIO's Casa Malonic in Zihuatanejo Blends Jungle and Ocean Views

architecture-design · 2026-09-10

HW-STUDIO has completed Casa Malonic, a 497 m² residence in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, slated for 2026. The project team includes lead architect Rogelio Vallejo Bores, architects Oscar Didier Ascencio Castro and Nik Zaret Cervantes Ordaz, team member Juan Pablo Camacho Ayala, structural engineering by ARGA Constructora, and construction by COMAQSO. César Béjar photographed the house. Curated by Valentina Díaz, the project description emphasizes the site's pre-existing landscape: an infinite sea horizon and a portion of jungle with an almost sacred presence. Light, flowers, stones, trees, and countless living beings combine to create an experience that precedes the architecture. In response, the design does not treat the building as an independent object but as a means to establish a relationship with the landscape. The house falls under the 'Houses' category.
