Hugues de Blignières Transforms a Haussmannian Apartment with Futuristic Flair

Interior designer Hugues de Blignières has renovated a 2,200-square-foot Haussmannian apartment near Place des États-Unis in Paris's 16th arrondissement for a young entrepreneur and art collector. The client's collection includes works by Monique Rozanès, Charles Pollock, Robert Couturier, and Victor Guedy. De Blignières introduced futuristic pieces by Ron Arad and Philippe Starck, balanced with custom furnishings evoking Parisian grandeur. Key features include stainless steel portals, a kitchen disguised as an elegant bar with moldings replicated from the bedroom, and a primary bath clad in Dark Emperador stone with a painting by Serge Poliakoff. The living room features Ron Arad loungers, a Charles Pollock canvas, and custom cabinetry concealing a bar and DJ station. In the dining room, Vico Magistretti chairs surround a custom table against jet-black Maison Lelièvre fabric. The entry hall includes a bagel-shaped mirror and antique curule stools, while a second gallery features bronze candleholders by Boon Room and an Aristide Maillol sculpture.
