House in Kamiyasu by Yutaka Yoshida Architect & Associates

Scheduled for completion in 2025, the House in Kamiyasu spans 208 m² and is crafted by Yutaka Yoshida Architect & Associates, with Yutaka Yoshida as the lead architect and Nanoka Kunishige as part of the design team. Miwa Negoro oversaw the project, while Katsumasa Tanaka captured its essence through photography. The residence is located on a flagpole-shaped plot, bordered by single-family homes, with limitations imposed by adjacent houses to the south and east, and a village path to the west and north. Despite the irregular lot shape, the site fosters a welcoming atmosphere, featuring a broad approach to the Keitobara Yakushido Shrine to the southwest and the calming sound of a nearby canal's flowing water. The design thoughtfully addresses these factors to create a harmonious living environment that honors both the neighborhood and natural surroundings.
