Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée Reopens in Nice with Art Commissions by Marion Flament, Garance Dupont, and Others
The Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée, a landmark from the Jazz Age on Nice’s Promenade des Anglais, has reopened as part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection after a redesign by London-based Hungarian designer Linda Boronkay. Originally opened in 1929 as a casino, it attracted famous personalities like F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald and Josephine Baker. Its Art Deco facade, designed by Charles and Marcel Dalmas with reliefs from Antoine Sartorio, was almost demolished in 1990 but was saved thanks to preservation efforts. The revamped hotel now boasts 145 rooms, 28 suites, and vibrant public areas. Boronkay aims to make the hotel a lively hub, celebrating Nice's rich cultural heritage.
