Honda Super-N electric microcar launches in UK with retro-inspired design and sub-£20,000 price

Honda's all-electric Super-N, a compact four-door vehicle measuring just 3.4 meters long, will arrive in the UK market in late summer 2026 with a starting price under £20,000. The car debuted at the Japan Mobility Show last year and represents Honda's latest entry into the small vehicle segment, drawing design inspiration from Japanese custom culture with a wide stance, flared wheelarches, and exaggerated aerodynamic elements. Power output ranges from 47 kW to 70 kW, offering an urban range of nearly 200 miles that reduces to 128 miles in regular use. Interior features include Bose audio, physical controls, and color schemes referencing 1980s-era graphics from Honda's City Turbo II model. Honda emphasizes driving enjoyment through a zippy EV powertrain, Boost mode simulating a seven-speed transmission, and simulated engine noise. The Super-N, known as the N-ONE in Japan, follows Honda's tradition of building tiny cars primarily for domestic markets but now adapted for European specifications. While the earlier Honda e model was praised for aesthetics and driving qualities, it suffered from limited range and high cost. The Super-N aims to address these issues with more accessible pricing and improved practicality for urban environments.
