Holly Lowen's Hyperrealistic Rooster Paintings Debut at Perrotin New York

Holly Lowen, a rising artist, presents her debut New York solo exhibition 'Colosseum' at Perrotin New York, on view through July 31st. The show features her signature tennis-core paintings alongside new hyperrealistic works depicting roosters in combat, exploring human competitive instincts. Lowen's roosters, shown mid-karate-kick or tumbling from nowhere, reflect on the paradox of domestication and the human tendency to push animals back into violent nature, as seen in cockfighting. The exhibition runs at Perrotin's Tribeca location.
