Hermès Beijing flagship wrapped in rose-pink ceramic veil by Mamou-Mani

Hermès has opened a new flagship in Beijing's Sanlitun district, featuring a five-story building designed by RDAI with a parametric ceramic facade by Mamou-Mani. The rose-pink and terracotta screen softens the glass volume, using modular ceramic tiles arranged in a rhythmic system that allows light to pass through. Curved elements were produced via 3D-printed positives for moulds, blending digital fabrication with ceramic craft. The facade references the Forbidden City through curved glazed rooflines and warm tones, avoiding direct historical quotation. Removable panels ensure practical maintenance. The project showcases Mamou-Mani's digital fabrication expertise in luxury retail, giving the flagship a tactile, layered public face.
