Henry Zankov Debuts First Collection as Diane von Furstenberg Artistic Director on the High Line

On September 10, Henry Zankov presented his inaugural collection as the artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg for Spring/Summer 2027, held on New York's High Line. Previously the brand's knitwear design director from 2014 to 2018, Zankov was appointed to this newly established position earlier this year, overseeing the brand's complete creative direction. After founding his own label, Zankov, in 2020, he became a runner-up for the 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize and was honored as the CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year in 2024. The Brooklyn-based designer, originally from Russia, grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he started a childhood fashion business. His collection, inspired by a rebellious muse, featured a mix of archival prints with fresh colors and materials, including standout pieces like a green checked wrap dress and a raspberry red wool suit. Zankov highlighted the importance of movement and body language in seduction, a principle he learned from Von Furstenberg, with whom he maintains daily communication. His own runway show is set for September 14, and he has relocated his studio to the same building as Diane von Furstenberg.
