Hector Navarro and ARKHITEKTON Design New Coastal Promenade for Comillas

A 5,400 m² intervention by ARKHITEKTON and lead architect Hector Navarro will replace a narrow sidewalk and a large parking area with a new public space in Comillas, scheduled for completion in 2026. Rather than renovating an existing seafront promenade, the scheme establishes an entirely new coastal front, reclaiming a stretch of shoreline for pedestrians and integrating it into the municipality's public space network. The project was submitted by the design team and curated by Valentina Díaz. Landscape architecture is handled by Diego Jardinería, with project management by Pedro F. Goicochea. Suppliers include BENITO, PTV Tudela and Urbidermis. Photography is by imagensubliminal, the duo of Rocío R. Rivas and Miguel de Guzmán. The work falls under the categories of installations and structures, landscape and architecture, and mixed-use architecture.
