He Wei Studio Completes First New Era Rural Community in Fujian
In 2019, Fujian's Department of Housing initiated a project called 'New Era Rural Community' to enhance the living conditions of farmers while promoting local cultural aesthetics. The initiative targeted ten counties with the assistance of ten design teams. The inaugural project, developed by 3andwich Design and He Wei Studio, is situated in Wuxi Village, Yongchun County, Quanzhou City, covering 4,800 square meters on a hillside with varied landscapes. The design integrates with the village's architecture, utilizing a point-based land strategy. Local residents participated in the construction, funded by government support for communal areas, with oversight from Zhongbo Urban Construction Engineering Co., Ltd.
