Hauser & Wirth Opens in Palo Alto with Calder and O'Keeffe Exhibition
On October 3, 2026, Hauser & Wirth will launch its first permanent gallery in Silicon Valley, situated in a historic postal building at 201–225 Hamilton Avenue. The opening exhibition, titled "Calder | O'Keeffe," is curated by Alexis Lowry and will be on display until January 24, 2027. This showcase delves into the relationship between Alexander Calder and Georgia O'Keeffe, featuring an array of paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and archival items, including a brass brooch that Calder crafted for O'Keeffe. The two last saw each other on October 20, 1976. Established in Zurich in 1992, Hauser & Wirth recalls its inaugural public exhibition that paired Calder with Miró, and the opening will include various public events.
