exhibition · 2026-09-22

Hattie Quigley, a painter based in London and an alumna of the BA Painting program at Edinburgh College of Art, was awarded the JM Finn Graduate Artist Award during the Affordable Art Fair 2025. This accolade enabled her to host her inaugural solo exhibition in London, titled 'SWELL,' at Refusés from September 2nd to 19th. The works showcased were inspired by her seven-week journey to Brazil and its Carnival. In September, Quigley will commence the MA Painting program at the Royal College of Art, backed by the Ali H Alkazzi Full Scholarship. Her large-scale oil pieces delve into themes of desire and consumerism, drawing inspiration from artists like Rubens, Saville, and Bacon. The Affordable Art Fair is scheduled for October 14th to 18th, 2026, and her website can be found at hattiequigleyart.com.
