Hassan Hajjaj's 'My Rock Stars' at Philharmonie de Paris

The Philharmonie de Paris presents 'My Rock Stars', a major exhibition of Hassan Hajjaj's photography from September 22, 2026 to April 25, 2027. The Moroccan-born, London-based artist, often called the 'Andy Warhol of Marrakech', combines fashion portraiture, documentary photography, and collage. His subjects—musicians from rap to gnawa to electro—pose against backdrops woven from recycled products like cigarette packs and cans, wearing custom-made clothing and accessories. The photo sessions are festive rituals with natural light and often improvised concerts. The exhibition features about forty photographs in a site-specific installation, with an original sound creation by French electro duo Acid Arab, known for blending ancestral rhythms with techno, punk, disco, and Arab rap since 2012. Hajjaj also runs Riad Yima in Marrakech's medina, a gallery-café-shop-riad opened in 2008, where he exhibits Rock Stars, sells prints and design furniture, and hosts musicians in residence.
