Harsh Collective Opens First LES Show with Gen-Z Painters

The show's title, derived from a saying attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, critiques the competitive ranking culture pervasive online and in art. Curated with a sense of confusion and obscurity, the works merge, blur, and overlap images, evoking voyeurism and loss. Marlowe's "LET IT LIE, fig" depicts an overexposed woman on MDF, suggesting a deceased subject. Morra's "Arrobamiento" shows feet lifting into a dark sky, implying troubled ascent. Luckovich's "Collapse" centers on a forlorn eye, with the figure's humanity dissolving into abstraction. The exhibition runs through June 27, 2026, at 279 Broome Street, New York.
