Haricot Gallery's 'What Shall We Do for the Rent?' Explores Domesticity in Camden

Haricot Gallery in London presents 'What Shall We Do for the Rent?', a group exhibition featuring five painters: Ania Hobson, Emily Ponsonby, Ethan Caflisch, David Hanes, and Selena Corsellis. The show runs from 26 June to 1 August 2026 at 205 Royal College Street, London. The exhibition focuses on everyday domestic scenes—kitchen tables, bathtubs, cut flowers—rendered in bold, unapologetic colors. The title references the longstanding economic pressures of the area, historically associated with the Camden Town Group (Walter Sickert, Gilman, Ginner, Bevan, Gore), who painted similar unglamorous subjects a century ago. Works include Selena Corsellis's small oil-on-plywood pieces, David Hanes's 'Waiting Patiently' (2024), Ethan Caflisch's diptych of two boys in a bathtub, and Emily Ponsonby's 'Flying Buttresses' (2026) in beeswax and oil.
