Harandi & Harandi Architects Revitalize 400-Year-Old Yazd Home into Casa Minoudar Boutique Hotel

architecture-design · 2026-10-12

In the historic center of Yazd, a city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the edge of Iran's central desert, Harandi & Harandi Architects has carefully revitalized a 400-year-old dwelling to create Casa Minoudar, a three-room boutique hotel where heritage conservation drives the design. The project, completed in 2021, encompasses 145 m² and falls under the categories of Hotels, Reconversion, and Heritage. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the architecture was led by principal architects Homa Harandi and Mehdi Harandi, with graphic design by Mahdiye Mahdikhah. Photographs were taken by Deed Studio. Suppliers and brands involved include Arman Safavi, Dimehspiral, Jotun Paint, and Neshiman. The description was submitted by the project team. The transformation of the historic residence into a hospitality venue highlights adaptive reuse within a UNESCO-listed urban fabric.
