Hangzhou LOFT49 Regeneration by line+ studio
Peidong Zhu, one of the founders and the lead designer at line+ studio, has been at the helm of transforming the Hangzhou LOFT49, a former chemical fiber plant from 1958. Nestled by the Grand Canal, this location was first adapted in 2003 into one of Hangzhou's early creative hubs. The ambitious renovation, covering 95,901 m², is set to wrap up in 2025 and aims to revitalize older industrial buildings within a bustling cityscape, blending the old industrial charm with contemporary urban life. The project involves a talented team of architects, including Wangtao Bao and Tao Xu, along with various firms for landscaping and engineering. It was commissioned by Hangzhou Blue Peacock Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd., with stunning photography by Arch-Exist and others.
