Hamburger Kunsthalle Re-evaluates Modernism Collection in Major New Exhibition

The Hamburger Kunsthalle presents 'THIS IS THE MODERN WORLD. Breakthroughs in Art, 1900–1960', a major exhibition that re-evaluates its Modernism Collection, one of Germany's premier collections of modern art with over 3,000 works. The show features around 125 works, including well-known highlights and recent acquisitions, illustrating the diverse artistic innovations that emerged between 1900 and 1960. The exhibition highlights various modernist movements, including Expressionism through works by Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter, and the École de Paris with artists such as Sonia Delaunay-Terk, Georges Braque, and Pablo Picasso. Pioneers of early modernism like Edvard Munch, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Lovis Corinth, Max Beckmann, and others are also featured.
