An original protest placard reading “I Am A Man” from the 1968 Memphis Sanitation Workers Strike sold for $58,427, while a broadside featuring Frederick Douglass from a Republican Party rally in Maine around 1872 garnered $25,486. The auction catalog encompassed 366 items, ranging from the 1780s to the MLK era and the Obama presidency. It also marked the debut of the Rex & Patti Stark Collection, a significant private collection of anti-slavery ceramics, curated by Hake's Americana Director Scott Mussell.
