H+N+S Landscape Architects: Three Decades of Dutch Design

Founded in 1990 in Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands, by Dirk Sijmons, Lodewijk van Nieuwenhuijze, and Jandirk Hoekstra, H+N+S Landscape Architects has grown to approximately 30 professionals. The current directors are Nikol Dietz, Hank van Tilborg, and Pieter Schengenga. Founders Sijmons and van Nieuwenhuijze left the board in 2013 and 2015 respectively, followed by Hoekstra in 2017. Hoekstra remained with the firm until his death in February 2024. Sijmons and van Nieuwenhuijze continue as advisors.
