Guido Otero Arquitetura Converts Chácara Flora Residence into Colégio São Sabas Middle School

Guido Otero Arquitetura has transformed a former residence in Chácara Flora into a new middle school facility for Colégio São Sabas, with the project completed in 2024. This renovation modifies the existing house on an urban-scale lot to support the school's Ensino Fundamental II program. Within the original structure, four classrooms have been incorporated, while two additional classrooms are situated on the lower area, achieved by raising the sports court by half a level. The design also features a dining hall and a multipurpose area that opens to the outdoors, along with administrative and coordination spaces. The project team included Ewerton Oliveira as coordinator, Nathielli Ricardo, Ana Luisa Calife, and Raphael Fuly, with structural reinforcement by Ney Constantini and construction by Grupo Diniz. Federico Cairoli captured photographs of the finished project, which was curated by Susanna Moreira for publication.
