Gucci Transforms 16th-Century Milan Cloister with Floral Meadow and Tapestries

At Milan Design Week, Gucci unveiled 'Memoria,' an installation overseen by creative director Demna, set within the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, a 16th-century cloister usually not accessible to the public. The installation transformed the courtyard's rectangular grassy areas with vivid flowers and decorated the arcade walls with Renaissance-inspired tapestries that illustrated significant moments in Gucci's legacy, including Madonna's appearance in a Tom Ford-designed silk shirt and velvet trousers at the 1995 MTV Awards, where she faced heckling from Courtney Love.
