Guardian's September 2026 Photo Roundup Features Phil Buehler's Gaza Memorial and Badiucao Graphic Novel
In its September 2026 photo collection, The Guardian features 'The Wall of Tears,' a memorial installation by US artist Phil Buehler, located outside Parliament House in Canberra. This artwork honors the 18,457 children lost in Gaza since October 2023. Meanwhile, in Chippendale, artists Badiucao and Melissa Chan showcased their forthcoming graphic novel, 'You Must Take Part in the Revolution.' At Melbourne Fringe, 95-year-old Liz Hicklin rehearsed 'Sylvia Plath Stole My Boyfriend,' co-authored with ABC's Jacinta Parsons, at Trades Hall, Carlton. The roundup also highlights Kylie Minogue's performance at the AFL grand final on 11 September, a whale carcass found at Perth's City Beach on 28 September, and various sports events, including the NBL Blitz and an NFL game at the MCG.
