Grzywinski + Pons completes The Kaye luxury tower in Seattle

The Kaye, a luxury high-rise in Seattle, has been finalized by Grzywinski + Pons, showcasing their expertise in adaptive reuse. This tower boasts 'sky-lounges' that offer sweeping views and features a facade composed of aluminum panels, GFRC, and brick. It harmonizes with the nearby 20th-century masonry through the use of precast string courses and debossed arches. Maritime industrial architecture is echoed in the operable double-pane windows. Design modifications led to the replacement of terra-cotta with glazed brick sections. A double-height colonnade welcomes visitors into a lobby adorned with a glass brick wall. The upper floors feature fewer muntins to enhance the views, and the facade system is unitized. The project team includes Perkins Eastman, KPFF, IMEG, Skanska, among others.
