Grzegorz Stefanski's sleepers to screen in Times Square during Armory Week 2026
From September 25 to 27, 2026, Grzegorz Stefanski will present his project "sleepers" on the digital screens at 5 Times Square in New York. This exhibition is part of GIANT SIGNALS: NEW YORK, hosted by DISIVA during Armory Week. Stefanski, a Polish artist, explores modern masculinity by showcasing black-and-white portraits of men at rest, emphasizing their vulnerability. Using infrared technology, he films participants overnight in their bedrooms and then captures their images the next morning. What began with friends expanded to include strangers during his residency at the International Studio & Curatorial Program in 2026. Paul Milican notes the contrast between intimacy and distance in this public display, which starts each evening at 6:30 PM.
