Grimshaw Unveils North Plaza with Boring Company Station at Allegiant Stadium

Grimshaw has released plans for North Plaza, a reimagined entry plaza at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas that replaces two parking lots with an elevated platform and transport hub. The design includes a Boring Company underground station, a car lane connecting to Dean Martin Drive, and a partially covered translucent canopy. The platform, raised to meet the road overpassing Interstate 15, will feature gathering areas and a grand staircase. A circular solar-panel-covered structure at one end is described by Grimshaw partner Andrew Byrne as a placeholder for a potential outdoor venue. The Boring Company, owned by Elon Musk, uses Tesla electric cars in its tunnels. The station would join the Las Vegas Loop, which currently has two underground stations and only a fraction of its 65 approved tunnel miles completed. The project reflects a shift away from parking near stadiums. Allegiant Stadium, designed by Manica Architecture, is home to the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. The Boring Company recently received approval for a similar tunnel system in Dubai.
