Grimshaw Completes Rammed-Earth Visitor Centre at Twelve Apostles in Victoria
In Victoria, Australia, Grimshaw, in partnership with landscape architect Aspect Studios, has finalized a 3,300-square-metre visitor centre at Port Campbell National Park, designed for the Twelve Apostles. The structure incorporates rammed-earth walls and is divided into two sections: the Coastal Building, which features a public education area and a rooftop lookout, and the Hinterland Building, which includes a cafe and retail spaces. Collaborating with the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, the design honors Keerray Woorroong Country. The initiative also comprises landscaped pathways, a Welcome Garden that highlights Eastern Maar heritage, and a parking area that separates buses from private cars.
